Supporting the Body

At uni I've been doing a project on supporting the body, so I have been looking at lots of ways a person can be supported, whether through cheerleading or a bench, tree-climbing or a wheelchair. I have also been looking at fabric-making techniques such as simple linking, knitting and crochet. My final piece is an under-stair hammock design, photos of the model and design sheet will follow soon, but for the time being at the bottom is the life-size hand knitted hammock, although this is a simplified version of the final design. Any comments would be welcome, please give honest feedback on what you think of the work displayed below :)
Simple linking wasn't so simple

002

Bonsoir! I will be going to bed before midnight tonight, whether I like it or not.

Tomorrow's first day back at uni since last year, looking forward to seeing the girls :) Pretty much done my holiday work, shockingly, still got to finish a couple bits off but not bad going for me! It's a project about cubes and I'm a bit addicted. Made six 10cm cubes and done a load of drawings, and now when I see a cube I get all excited, or like I'll go into a supermarket and see a pineapple, and get an urge to cut it into a cube, it's ridiculous.

Got so much done this weekend on my to do list which is very pleasing, although buying a Filofax refill wasn't as simple as I'd hoped. I had to resort to buying WHSmith's own brand diary refill D: tragic, I know. I think I might possibly be a bit of a snob when it comes to things like that, I can deal with eating ASDA yeast extract instead of real Marmite, but WHSmith diary refills and The Jelly Bean Factory beans just don't cut it.

Had a very nice lunch at my grandparents' yesterday avec Ma and Molly (little sister), it's lovely going to see them as us girls lived there for 2 or 3 months last year and it's like a second home.Got a rather good new mascara from Boots, the woman who sold it to me was bloody annoying telling me I was going to shout and curse at it for a while but it'd be worth it. How idiotic do I appear?! (rhetorical question, please don't go there) I am capable of putting mascara on thank you very much, even if the brush is a funny shape. Also got some laavely new jeans from Topshop, size 8 ^-^ yay.

There are these people who live a few doors along, and they always insist on having massive bonfires, and tonight's is especially shitty because it smells like they're burning tyres or something and all the fumes are seeping into the house and stinking half the rooms out, making us feel ill and our eyes sting etc, it's horrid.

Enough of a rant, better tidy up, draw stuff and get to bed.

Tarrah,
KC xx
